Mountain Bikers descending from Mt. Antero.

CORE is not your typical Jeep Club, we are a motorized action group based out of Buena Vista. We are avid trail users and we love going on trails, but we also work to keep our trails open. We have 14 adopted trails, we do work projects, provide trail reports and we work with land managers to ensure motorized users are represented when they make decisions. We believe that our road system is the common thread that holds all user groups together. If our access is limited, all recreators are effected negatively.

The CORE Mission

To keep trails open through action, adoptions, awareness, stewardship, education, collaboration and to involve multiple user groups to accomplish this goal.

The CORE History

CORE was founded by Marcus Trusty, a fourth generation Buena Vista Native in 2016. CORE is an entirely volunteer organization and 100% of our supporting membership dues and sponsorships go toward trail projects, trail maintenance, education and support for groups who assist us in fighting to Keeptrailsopen! CORE financially supports the Colorado Trails Preservation Alliance and the Colorado Offroad Trail Defenders. Both groups provide resources and legal counsel when necessary to challenge trail closures. In 2020 the CORE Advisory Board was formed to ensure the CORE Mission is maintained and the organization continues to flourish. Read about the CORE Advisory Board here.
