Advisory Board

The CORE Advisory Board was created in 2020 to provide continued leadership, organizational direction and to advance the CORE Mission. Seven CORE Members were chosen for Advisory Positions. These board members have helped lead trail patrols, stewardship projects and all support multi-use recreation. These men have all been instrumental in the pursuit of the Keepingtrailsopen mission. They are:

Brian O’Connors - Brian is a United States Military Veteran and a former President of the Colorado Association of Four Wheel Drive Clubs. He lives in Monument, Colorado and has several decades of wheeling experience.

Jeff Shafer - Jeff lives in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Jeff has been wheeling seriously since 2015 and is an avid outdoorsman, he enjoys hiking, climbing, snow skiing, camping, hunting, fishing, rafting, snowboarding and dirt bike riding.

Patrick McKay - Patrick lives in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. He is an avid Jeeper, drone pilot, and a committed access advocate. Patrick is the Vice President of the Colorado Offroad Trail Defenders.

Luke Gilginas - Luke lives in Woodland Park, Colorado. Luke has been wheeling since 1994 and enjoys working on rigs as much as wheeling them. He enjoys all types of public land activities including camping, recreational shooting and mountain biking.

Keith Butler - Keith resides in both Buena Vista, Colorado and Florissant, Colorado. Keith has been wheeling since 1995 and enjoys hiking, camping and fishing on public lands.

Shawn Farris - Shawn lives in Buena Vista, Colorado. He is an avid outdoorsman and patrols the areas around Buena Vista year-round. Shawn has been working hard over the past several years to remove trash from the Fourmile Area.

Kurt Miller - Kurt has lived in Buena Vista, Colorado since 2012. He is part of the Chaffee County Volunteer Fire Department and enjoys all types of outdoor recreation.

Cheston Hart - Cheston lives in Buena Vista, Colorado and has been an avid offroader since 2004. He is a veteran wildland firefighter and Battalion Chief for Chaffee County Fire Department He enjoys public land opportunities including hunting, skiing and hiking with family and friends.

Terry Sandmeier - Terry lives in Buena Vista, Colorado and has been an avid outdoorsman his entire life. Terry is a former hunting guide and outfitter and enjoys all activities on public lands.
